Settings

The Settings page is where you manage your Wialon connection, adjust how the application looks and behaves, and review your account information. Changes made here take effect across the entire application.

Wialon Token

FleetTAB connects to Wialon using an API token that you provide. The token authorizes the app to read fleet data from your Wialon account on your behalf.

Adding a Token

If you are setting up FleetTAB for the first time, or if no token is currently saved:

  1. Open Settings from the sidebar.
  2. In the Wialon Token section, click the token input field.
  3. Paste your Wialon API token. Tokens are 72 characters long.
  4. Click Save.

FleetTAB will immediately attempt to authenticate with Wialon using the token. If the connection is successful, your fleet data will begin loading. If it fails, an error message will indicate whether the token is invalid or whether there was a network issue.

Updating a Token

Wialon tokens can expire or be revoked. If your data stops loading or you see authentication errors, your token may need to be replaced.

To update your token:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the Wialon Token section, clear the existing token field.
  3. Paste your new token.
  4. Click Save.

The new token is used immediately — you do not need to reload the page.

Removing a Token

To disconnect FleetTAB from Wialon entirely:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. In the Wialon Token section, click Remove Token.
  3. Confirm the action.

After removal, FleetTAB will no longer have access to your Wialon data and will prompt you to connect when you navigate to any data page.

warning

Removing the token disconnects the app from all fleet data immediately. Any open pages that are actively loading data will stop. The app will not retain any cached fleet data once the token is removed.

tip

Wialon API tokens are generated in your Wialon account under User Settings. When creating a token, grant it access to the specific units and data types you want FleetTAB to use. Limiting token scope is good practice and reduces risk if the token is ever compromised.

Display Preferences

Theme

FleetTAB supports three theme options: Light, Dark, and System. The System option follows your device's current color scheme preference.

To change the theme:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Display Preferences, locate the Theme option.
  3. Select Light, Dark, or System.

The theme switches immediately across the entire interface.

Measurement Units

Distance, speed, and volume values throughout FleetTAB can be displayed in metric or imperial units.

SettingDistanceSpeedVolume
Metrickmkm/hL
Imperialmimphgal

To change the unit system:

  1. Open Settings.
  2. Under Display Preferences, locate the Units options.
  3. Set your preferred distance, speed, and volume units.

This setting affects all pages: Fleet Monitoring (speed column), Trips (distance column and map overlays), KPI tiles (distance and speed metrics), and the Reports matrix.

Account Information

The Account section displays read-only information about your current Wialon session:

FieldDescription
Wialon UsernameThe username associated with the authenticated Wialon account.
Wialon HostThe Wialon server your account is hosted on (e.g., hst-api.wialon.com).
Connection StatusWhether FleetTAB is currently authenticated and receiving data.
Token StatusWhether the current token is valid, and when it was last used successfully.

This information is useful for troubleshooting. If FleetTAB is not loading data, the account section lets you confirm at a glance whether the Wialon connection is active or has lapsed.

tip

If you manage FleetTAB on behalf of multiple fleet clients — each with their own Wialon account — the account section tells you at a glance which account is currently connected, avoiding confusion when switching between deployments.

Saving Changes

Most Display Preferences save automatically when you make a selection. For the Wialon token, an explicit Save action is required to confirm the change.

Settings are persisted in your browser's local storage. This means:

  • Settings are specific to the browser and device you are using.
  • Clearing browser data or using a private/incognito window will reset settings to defaults.
  • Settings are not synchronized across multiple devices or browsers.

If you access FleetTAB on multiple devices, you will need to configure preferences and re-enter your token on each one.
